Alexander Seibert - Baroque Violin

Alexander Seibert began his musical education at the Peter Cornelius Conservatorium Mainz with Cornelia Lukas.
His early interest in historical performance practices led to the forming of the Mainz based baroque ensemble "Il Concerto della Muse". As concertmaster he appeared in several concerts and CD recordings (Brandenburg concertos, Christmas Oratorio, Works of Mainz Composers of the Baroque).

He is a founding member of the groups Cadenza and "ensemble fidicinium", the latter having concentrated on the music of the German and Austrian early baroque period. Together with his other ensemble members, Alexander Seibert is a prize winner at the Biagio-Marini-Competition in Neuburg, and the Van Wassenaer Competition in The Hague. He is also the national first prize winner in the competition "Jugend Musiziert" in the section Early Music. With Cadenza he won second place at the 5th International Heinrich Schmelzer Competition held in Melk, Austria, and the first prize at the "Alte Musik Treff" competition in Berlin.

Alexander Seibert is busy with concerts, festivals and CD recordings throughout Europe, appearing with and in Philharmonie Köln, Ludwigsburger Schloßtspiele, Fringe Festival Barcelona, and the Van Flaanderen Festival Alden-Bisen.
